The Spanish Dining Chair 3237: construction and work required

The Spanish Dining Chair 3237 was designed by Børge Mogensen. 3237 is the Spanish dining chair without armrests. The seat and back consist of stretched saddle leather on a solid wood frame, with straps and buckles under the seat and behind the back.

The saddle leather supports the body directly and requires a different cut than standard furniture leather over foam. Strap holes, edges, and buckle attachments are inspected before replacement.

Choose a service for The Spanish Dining Chair 3237

You can select Restoration of wooden frame and New seat in saddle leather and New backrest in saddle leather and New seat and backrest in saddle leather as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price for leatherwork applies to the selected part, cut and mounted in load-bearing saddle leather with the agreed edges and stitching. Existing fittings are only reused if they are suitable. New buckles, defective fittings, missing parts, and structural repairs are assessed separately. Wood restoration is a separate service and is not automatically added to the leather price.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

Strong saddle leather is used, which is suitable for bearing weight without foam padding. Thickness, tanning, and flexibility must match the model and straps. Ordinary furniture fabric or thin upholstery leather is not a comparable material choice. Color and desired patina are matched with a sample; the treatment of the wood is chosen based on the existing frame.
