Reupholstery of your 7’er chair
When reupholstering a 7’er-chair, both the cover and the chair’s shell must be assessed. Tell us whether the chair is already upholstered, whether you want new material over existing padding, or whether you are considering altering a chair without upholstery.
Series 7 is a chair from Fritz Hansen. The manufacturer’s own refurbishment programme distinguishes between inspection, restoration and possible upholstery upgrades. Show the chair’s current specification
A front view does not show the whole job. Also take a photo of the back, the edge between shell and upholstery, and the underside. Any manufacturer's mark and information about previous work can help identify the chair.
Describe whether you wish for upholstery on the side facing the body, or if the entire visible surface of the shell is included in the request. The exact scope must be assessed based on the chair and cannot be determined solely by the model name.
When the chair also has damage
New fabric or leather does not fix cracks, loose connections or a shell that feels unstable. If the back gives way differently than before, or if you can see a damage, it must be reported before choosing the cover. Do not use a chair that feels insecure while the task is being resolved.

Material and appearance
Fabric and leather highlight the chair's form differently. Describe the desired colour, surface and usage situation. If the chair is part of a set, it is relevant whether the other chairs should be preserved or if the entire set should have the same material.
Clarify edges, seams, and which part of the shell should be visible. A photo of a desired look is a good reference, but does not in itself mean your chair can or should be executed in exactly the same way.
What affects the price?
Existing upholstery, the condition of the padding, material selection and the number of chairs affect the work. Repair of the shell or frame must be described separately. The same applies to disassembly and drop-off or transport.
