The Spanish Dining Chair 3238 with armrests: construction and work required

The Spanish Dining Chair 3238 with armrests was designed by Børge Mogensen. The 3238 features stretched saddle leather in the seat and back, as well as solid wood armrests. The armrests and the higher dining frame distinguish the model from the lounge chair and from the 3237 without armrests.

The leather parts are fitted to the chair's precise width and fittings. The front edge of the wooden arms and their joint with the back posts are examined separately, because any looseness here affects the entire frame.

Choose a service for The Spanish Dining Chair 3238 with armrests

You can select Restoration of wooden frame and New seat in saddle leather and New backrest in saddle leather and New seat and backrest in saddle leather as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price for leatherwork applies to the selected part, cut and mounted in load-bearing saddle leather with the agreed edges and stitching. Existing fittings are only reused if they are suitable. New buckles, defective fittings, missing parts, and structural repairs are assessed separately. Wood restoration is a separate service and is not automatically added to the leather price.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

Strong saddle leather is used, which is suitable for bearing weight without foam padding. Thickness, tanning, and flexibility must match the model and straps. Ordinary furniture fabric or thin upholstery leather is not a comparable material choice. Color and desired patina are matched with a sample; the treatment of the wood is chosen based on the existing frame.
