Sanding and treatment of tables

Stains, rings, and scratches do not necessarily mean the table needs to be replaced. We assess the tabletop, the existing finish, and your wishes, so the work fits your table exactly.

Solid wood or veneer?

Solid wood and veneers cannot be treated alike. The veneer's thickness, previous sanding, and any loose layers determine what is possible. Also send a picture of the table edge and underside if you are unsure about the material.

How we define the job

  1. Send photos and measurements. Show the whole table, the edge and any stains or damage. State its length, width and number of extension leaves.
  2. Choose the appearance you want. Tell us about colour, patina and use. We establish a suitable treatment and whether a test is needed.
  3. Get a comprehensive quote. Scope, treatment and transport are agreed upon before work begins.

Tabletop, legs and extension leaves

Tell us whether only the tabletop needs sanding or the legs and frame need work too. Assess extension leaves alongside the rest of the table to coordinate colour and finish. Loose joints and structural damage fall under joinery and repairs.

What does sanding of a table cost?

Size, material, previous treatment and damage determine the price. A quote must specify which surfaces and panels the work covers. We clarify the options based on your images and, if necessary, a physical inspection.
