A chair may need more than just a new seat. Perhaps the frame is loose, the armrests are worn, or the wood surface is stained. We help assemble the task so that construction, woodwork, and seat are assessed together.

Please send images of the entire chair, the underside, and any areas requiring attention. Provide the quantity and, if known, the model or manufacturer. We will clarify the work and price before starting.

What do your chairs need?

Repair of frame and joints

Does a leg, armrest, or backrest move? Loose joints and cracks must be assessed before the surface is treated. Describe where the chair is unstable and whether it has previously been repaired. Read about joinery and furniture repair.

Sanding and treatment of wood

Frame, legs, and armrests may need a refresh or a new surface treatment. Wood type, veneer, and previous finish determine the possibilities. Tell us if you wish to preserve the patina or have a more uniform expression. See woodwork restoration.

New weaving or upholstery

Worn seat weaving can be replaced, and a padded seat can get new upholstery and, if needed, new padding. We clarify materials and technique for each chair. Go to chair weaving or chair upholstery.

You do not need to know the model to get help. An overview image and a photo of any brand mark under the chair are a good starting point.

A chair or the whole set?

Please send images of all chairs, even if only some are loose or worn. The condition may vary, and treatment, colour, and materials must match within the set. Also let us know if the table needs sanding.

The price depends on quantity, condition, materials and the agreed work. Some damages require a physical inspection. We agree which parts need to be repaired or renewed, and what must be preserved.
