New cushions for caravans and motorhomes

Cushions for a caravan must fit a fixed layout, where the same part can have multiple functions. A seating group can become a sleeping area, and a cushion can cover access to storage. Therefore, the entire arrangement must be described together with the dimensions.

At Møbelpartner you can submit a request for cushions in special sizes. We need to know the shape, usage and material requirements to assess the specific task. Also specify whether it is a caravan, motorhome or another built-in seating area.

Draw the seat group in both layouts

If the cushions are moved when the seating area becomes a bed, then draw both arrangements. Number each piece and show which edges must meet. In this way it becomes clear whether the cushions have the same thickness and fit together in both situations.

Describe what is currently not functioning well. It could be gaps, cushions that slip, an unwanted edge, or a seat that is too low. A replacement is an option to describe the problem before the old measurements are copied.

Measure each piece

Note all sides and mark the front and back. An angle or slanted rear edge must be visible in a drawing. A combined measurement for the entire seating group is not sufficient to produce the individual parts.

Also measure the actual space without cushions. Old cushions may be compressed and have changed shape. Agree whether existing cushions or a physical template should be used as reference. Do not guess on seam allowances or deductions.

Seat comfort and sleeping function

Please specify whether the cushions are primarily used for sitting, and how often they are incorporated into a sleeping surface. The choice of filling and construction must take this into account. A new seat cushion is not automatically a special mattress.

We make no general health or sleep promises based on a particular foam type. Instead, describe your experience with the current solution and the specific changes you want.

Covers, zips and access to cupboards

Photograph how the cushions are lifted, turned or moved. Show doors, lids, hinges and other parts that must remain usable. Position zips and fastenings to work in both arrangements.

If you want to keep the filling and change only the fabric, reupholstering cushions is the relevant job. If you want new filling in the old covers, made-to-measure foam may be an option, subject to an individual assessment.

Humidity, storage and special requirements

Tell us how the caravan is stored, and whether there are known problems with moisture around the seating group. Material choice, ventilation and care must go together. If there are special documentation requirements for materials, they must be sent before the quote.

We do not specify a general vehicle approval or fire classification for all cushions. The final specification must reflect exactly your use and the properties that can be documented for the chosen material.
