Made-to-measure boat cushions for the specific location
Boat cushions may have angled sides, curved edges and cutouts that cannot be described by length and width alone. A good inquiry shows both each individual piece and the space it must lie on.
Describe whether the cushions are to be used in the cabin, cockpit, or elsewhere. Møbelpartner evaluates the options based on your task. Materials, shape, and method must be confirmed before a special order is agreed upon.
Cabin and cockpit must be described differently
A cushion in a sheltered cabin faces different conditions from a seat exposed to rain, sun and splashes. State whether cushions stay on the boat, where they are stored and whether they need moving often to access hatches.
If a cushion is used for both sitting and sleeping, mention both uses. Simply calling it a seat cushion is not enough. The required construction should be clarified without assuming that one solution works for every type of boat.
Create an overview of all parts
Draw the position viewed from above and number the parts. Use the same numbers in the images and in the measurement list. Mark the front, back, and whether a part is left or right. Two mirrored cushions can easily be confused if the drawing lacks direction.
Note the length, thickness and any angles or curves on each side. Show access to hatches and doors. Agree whether a physical template or the old cushions should be used before making a final template.
Use the old cushions as a reference
Existing cushions may show seams, zips, and shape. However, they are not necessarily an exact measurement if the filling is worn or the cover has changed. Specify if you wish to keep the fit or make changes.

Material requirements and moisture
Describe ventilation under the cushions and the degree of moisture exposure. A fabric for outdoor use does not automatically make a finished cushion waterproof. Seams, zips and contents must be included in the assessment along with the material's documented properties.

Clarify fit before production
For complex shapes, it must be agreed how the measurements are approved and whether a fit check is necessary. This applies especially to multiple parts that must meet closely or follow a curved side. A first sketch is the basis for assessment, not an automatic production order.
