Give Pia Chair new life

We start with the furniture’s condition, construction and your wishes. For Pia Chair you can choose:

  • New paper-cord weaving
  • Restoration of wooden frame

Send images of the entire piece of furniture and close-ups of wear or damage. We assess the task and clarify materials, price and expected time with you before work begins.

Is it worth restoring?

If our restoration price exceeds what a new item would cost, we will always inform you and provide an honest assessment before we begin. In this way, you can safely choose what makes the most sense – both for you and for the planet.

Collection & delivery

We offer collection and delivery of your furniture throughout Denmark. You are also very welcome to drop off and collect from one of our workshops. We agree a time for delivery or collection that suits you.

Pia Chair: construction and work required

The Pia Chair was designed by Poul Cadovius. The Pia Chair features slender, tapered wooden legs, a wide shaped backrest, and a hand-woven paper cord seat. Rounded rear leg ends and finger joints on the front legs are distinct details.

The weave's tension must suit the light seat frame. The back and thin legs require separate assessment if there are loose joints or surface damage.

Choose a service for Pia Chair

You can select New paper-cord weaving and Restoration of wooden frame as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price applies to a complete replacement of the weaving on the described part with the selected material. Repair of wood, loose joints, or damaged fastening points is not automatically included. These must be clarified first so that the load-bearing structure is suitable for the new weaving.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

New paper cord weaving is adapted to the existing construction and the agreed-upon pattern. Select natural or black as a starting point; material and color will be confirmed in the quote. A request for a different technique or material type must be described in advance, as it may change both the appearance and the scope of work.

The wooden frame can be assessed for restoration at the same time as the seat or cushions. Specify if you wish to preserve the current tone and visible signs of wear. The shown price for the wooden frame is an independent starting point; major damage or replacement of parts requires a specific quote.

Photos for assessing Pia Chair

Show the seat from above and below, the joints of the front legs and the back from both sides. Send measurements and close-ups of broken thread or wear on the seat frame.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
