Give PK15 new life

We start with the furniture’s condition, construction and your wishes. For PK15 you can choose:

  • New French caning in seat
  • Restoration of wooden frame

Send images of the entire piece of furniture and close-ups of wear or damage. We assess the task and clarify materials, price and expected time with you before work begins.

Is it worth restoring?

If our restoration price exceeds what a new item would cost, we will always inform you and provide an honest assessment before we begin. In this way, you can safely choose what makes the most sense – both for you and for the planet.

Collection & delivery

We offer collection and delivery of your furniture throughout Denmark. You are also very welcome to drop off and collect from one of our workshops. We agree a time for delivery or collection that suits you.

PK15: construction and work required

PK15 was designed by Poul Kjærholm. The PK15 features a steam-bent ash frame with an outer curved backrest and armrest, as well as an inner back arch. The seat is made of open, hexagonal French cane, which allows light to pass through the surface.

Open cane weaving is a different technique than a tight paper cord seat. The frame's attachment points are inspected, and the wood's surface is protected during replacement.

Choose a service for PK15

You can select New French caning in seat and Restoration of wooden frame as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price applies to a complete replacement of the weaving on the described part with the selected material. Repair of wood, loose joints, or damaged fastening points is not automatically included. These must be clarified first so that the load-bearing structure is suitable for the new weaving.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

The seat is made of natural-colored cane in the open French pattern. The dimension and attachment are matched to the existing seat frame. Paper cord and an upholstered cushion are other solutions and are not included in this price. The finish and condition of the ash are reviewed separately.

The wooden frame can be assessed for restoration at the same time as the seat or cushions. Specify if you wish to preserve the current tone and visible signs of wear. The shown price for the wooden frame is an independent starting point; major damage or replacement of parts requires a specific quote.

Photos for assessing PK15

Show the whole seat from above and below, including how the weaving finishes along the frame. Include photos of both curved back rails and the wooden joints.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
