Jagtstolen 2229: construction and work required

The Hunting Chair 2229 was designed by Børge Mogensen. The Hunting Chair 2229 is a low lounge chair with a sharply reclined back, long wooden armrests, and stretched saddle leather. The open construction makes straps, buckles, and joints visible.

The low seat position and the back's angle require correct tension in the leather. Over-tightening can alter the load on the wood; the frame is inspected first.

Choose a service for Jagtstolen 2229

You can select Restoration of wooden frame and New seat in saddle leather and New backrest in saddle leather and New seat and backrest in saddle leather as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price for leatherwork applies to the selected part, cut and mounted in load-bearing saddle leather with the agreed edges and stitching. Existing fittings are only reused if they are suitable. New buckles, defective fittings, missing parts, and structural repairs are assessed separately. Wood restoration is a separate service and is not automatically added to the leather price.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

Strong saddle leather is used, which is suitable for bearing weight without foam padding. Thickness, tanning, and flexibility must match the model and straps. Ordinary furniture fabric or thin upholstery leather is not a comparable material choice. Color and desired patina are matched with a sample; the treatment of the wood is chosen based on the existing frame.

Photos for assessing Jagtstolen 2229

Show the chair from the side, the back from behind, the underside of the seat, and the ends of the armrests. Specify if there are cracks around strap holes or movement in the joints.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
