We start with the furniture’s condition, construction and your wishes. For AX HM11 you can choose:

If our restoration price exceeds what a new item would cost, we will always inform you and provide an honest assessment before we begin. In this way, you can safely choose what makes the most sense – both for you and for the planet.

Collection & delivery

We offer collection and delivery of your furniture throughout Denmark. You are also very welcome to drop off and collect from one of our workshops. We agree a time for delivery or collection that suits you.

AX HM11: construction and work required

The AX HM11 was designed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen. The AX HM11 is a wooden chair with a molded seat, back, and armrests. The bent side pieces feature walnut inlays, while the turned crossbars connect the two sides.

Veneer layers, edges and existing surface require different treatment. The chair has a fixed wooden seat, so the service shown concerns restoration of wood and finish.

Choose a service for AX HM11

You can select Restoration of wood frames and surface as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price is based on the restoration of the existing wooden surface. Breakages, missing wood, major structural repairs, and repair of moving parts are assessed separately. The scope of work and desired finish must be specified in the offer.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

The molded parts have veneer layers that must be assessed before processing. Existing lacquer and wood color are matched with any walnut inlays. Lifted layers and structural damage require a separate solution; the visible wood surface cannot be treated like a thick plank.

Photos for assessing AX HM11

Show the edges of the seat and back, the curves at the armrests, and the connections on the underside. Take close-up photos of cracks, lifted veneer layers, and discoloration.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
