We start with the furniture’s condition, construction and your wishes. For X Lounge HM10 you can choose:

  • Restoration of wooden frame

Send images of the entire piece of furniture and close-ups of wear or damage. We assess the task and clarify materials, price and expected time with you before work begins.

Is it worth restoring?

If our restoration price exceeds what a new item would cost, we will always inform you and provide an honest assessment before we begin. In this way, you can safely choose what makes the most sense – both for you and for the planet.

Collection & delivery

We offer collection and delivery of your furniture throughout Denmark. You are also very welcome to drop off and collect from one of our workshops. We agree a time for delivery or collection that suits you.

X Lounge HM10: construction and work required

The X Lounge HM10 was designed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen. The X Lounge HM10 features bent wooden parts with walnut inlays and a continuous woven seat and back surface. The natural rattan is woven around a metal frame between the intersecting side pieces.

The material is natural rattan, and the technique must suit the metal frame. The wooden parts are laminated and assessed separately, especially at crossings, bends and joints.

Choose a service for X Lounge HM10

You can select New rattan weaving on seat and backrest and Restoration of wooden frame as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price includes replacing the rattan weave on the seat and back on a usable metal frame. Damaged attachment points, major rust damage, and repairs to the laminated wooden parts are assessed separately before the new weave is applied.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

Natural rattan is adapted to the metal frame's existing pattern, attachment points, and tension. This is a different solution than paper cord weaving. The material's dimensions and color are matched to the chair. The laminated wooden parts and walnut inlays require a separate assessment in the case of cracks or loose layers.

The wooden frame can be assessed for restoration at the same time as the seat or cushions. Specify if you wish to preserve the current tone and visible signs of wear. The shown price for the wooden frame is an independent starting point; major damage or replacement of parts requires a specific quote.

Photos for assessing X Lounge HM10

Show the entire woven surface from the front and back, its edges and the transition to the metal frame. Send close-up images of the cross in the wooden frame and any lifted veneer layers.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
