AV Egoist chaise longue: construction and work required

The AV Egoist chaise longue was designed by Arne Vodder. The AV Egoist has a long, slanted wooden frame with a lying surface made of wide, intersecting leather straps. A small headrest and an optional side table are independent components.

The wide straps carry the body and must be assessed as leather weaving with specific thicknesses and attachments. Upholstery for the head cushion is a smaller, separate task.

Choose a service for AV Egoist chaise longue

You can select New leather weaving on seat and backrest and Restoration of wooden frame and New cover for headrest cushion as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price for leather weaving includes the replacement of the load-bearing leather straps on the seat and back on a functional frame. Headrest and wood restoration are separate options. Fittings, tensioning mechanisms, wooden fractures, and any side table are assessed separately.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

The load-bearing straps require suitable saddle leather with an agreed width, thickness and strength. Colour and tension are matched to the existing attachment points. The headrest cushion cover is selected separately. Any side table and its fittings are included only if specified in the quote.

The wooden frame can be assessed for restoration at the same time as the seat or cushions. Specify if you wish to preserve the current tone and visible signs of wear. The shown price for the wooden frame is an independent starting point; major damage or replacement of parts requires a specific quote.

Show the entire reclining surface, where the straps cross and attach underneath, the neck cushion and all wooden frame joints. Also show any side table and its fittings.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
