PK91 folding stool: construction and work required

The PK91 folding stool was designed by Poul Kjærholm. The PK91 features a foldable frame with intersecting, flat stainless steel legs and a stretched seat made of canvas or leather. The seat hangs between the upper sides of the frame without a loose upholstered cushion.

The length, strength, and attachment of the seat must accommodate the movement when the stool is folded. A standard thin furniture fabric is not a direct substitute for a load-bearing canvas seat.

Choose a service for PK91 folding stool

You can select New load-bearing seat as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price applies to a new load-bearing seat and mounting on a functional folding frame. It does not include a foam cushion. Play in cross joints, deformation of metal, and damaged fasteners are assessed separately before new material is installed.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

Canvas or leather must be suitable as a load-bearing, stretched surface. Thickness, strength, length, and finish are chosen according to the construction. The starting price for leather assumes a quality suitable for the purpose; standard thin upholstery leather is not automatically used.

Show the seat from above and below, its finishing at the steel, and the frame open and folded. Describe play in the cross joints and show where the material has stretched or cracked.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
