OW2000 Egyptian Stool: construction and work required

OW2000 Egyptian Stool was designed by Ole Wanscher. Egyptian Stool has a folding wooden frame with curved crossed legs and a stretched saddle-leather seat. The seat directly supports the body’s weight and does not have an upholstered foam cushion.

The saddle leather's thickness, cutting and fastening must suit the folding frame. Play in the cross joints and cracks near the seat suspension are addressed before a new seat is cut.

Choose a service for OW2000 Egyptian Stool

You can select New load-bearing leather seat and Restoration of wooden frame as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price for the seat applies to the cutting and installation of a new load-bearing saddle leather seat on a functional frame. Wood fractures, play in the folding mechanism, and damaged attachments are assessed separately. Wood restoration is selected as an independent service.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

The seat requires strong saddle leather suitable for a self-supporting surface. Ordinary soft upholstery leather, thin textiles and foam cushions are different constructions. Colour, thickness and finishing are agreed after inspecting the chair’s existing fittings.

The wooden frame can be assessed for restoration at the same time as the seat or cushions. Specify if you wish to preserve the current tone and visible signs of wear. The shown price for the wooden frame is an independent starting point; major damage or replacement of parts requires a specific quote.

Show both sides of the leather seat, its fastenings and the frame both open and folded. Include close-ups of cracks and any play in the joints.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount.
