We start with the furniture’s condition, construction and your wishes. For Penguin armchair you can choose:

If our restoration price exceeds what a new item would cost, we will always inform you and provide an honest assessment before we begin. In this way, you can safely choose what makes the most sense – both for you and for the planet.

Collection & delivery

We offer collection and delivery of your furniture throughout Denmark. You are also very welcome to drop off and collect from one of our workshops. We agree a time for delivery or collection that suits you.

Penguin armchair: construction and work required

The Penguin lounge chair was designed by Ib Kofod-Larsen. The Penguin lounge chair features a wide, curved back and a separate low seat on four slender steel legs. Its lounge proportions differ from the taller Penguin dining chair.

The chair is available with seat upholstery only, or with both seat and back upholstered. The scope of the task is chosen based on the existing version, and wood or metal is assessed independently of the upholstery.

Choose a service for Penguin armchair

You can select Reupholstery of seat and Reupholstery of seat and backrest as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price covers new covers for the selected part: the seat alone or both seat and backrest. Both options require usable existing covered parts. Upholstering a previously bare wooden backrest is a different job and is not automatically included. New filling, shell damage and frame repairs are assessed separately.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

You can choose furniture fabric, leather, or aniline leather as a starting point for the quote. The specific quality, color, and finish are agreed upon based on usage and preferences. A patterned textile may require more material than a solid-colored one, and the leather's natural variations must be taken into account during cutting. If multiple pieces of furniture are to have the same upholstery, they are assessed as a single project.

Photos for assessing Penguin armchair

Show the entire chair from the side, the seat and back from the front and back, and the underside. Measure the seat height and state whether your chair has a visible wooden back or upholstery on the back.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
