Penguin rocking chair: construction and work required

The Penguin rocking chair was designed by Ib Kofod-Larsen. The Penguin rocking chair features a separate seat and a curved back with small side wings on a slender frame with curved rockers. It is available both with an exposed wooden back and as a fully upholstered version.

Select the seat alone for the seat-upholstered version or seat and back for the version already fully upholstered. Rockers and joints are assessed separately so that the rocking movement is not altered by the upholstery work.

Choose a service for Penguin rocking chair

You can select Reupholstery of seat and Reupholstery of seat and backrest as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price covers new covers for the selected part: the seat alone or both seat and backrest. Both options require usable existing covered parts. Upholstering a previously bare wooden backrest is a different job and is not automatically included. New filling, shell damage and frame repairs are assessed separately.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

You can choose furniture fabric, leather, or aniline leather as a starting point for the quote. The specific quality, color, and finish are agreed upon based on usage and preferences. A patterned textile may require more material than a solid-colored one, and the leather's natural variations must be taken into account during cutting. If multiple pieces of furniture are to have the same upholstery, they are assessed as a single project.

Photos for assessing Penguin rocking chair

Show the seat, the back from both sides, both rockers and their joints with the frame. Specify whether the back is in visible wood or already upholstered.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
