Heart Cone Chair: construction and work required

The Heart Cone Chair was designed by Verner Panton. The Heart Cone Chair has two large back wings with an indentation in between, which forms the characteristic heart shape. The pointed base and a separate seat cushion rest on a metal cross base.

The wide wings and curved inner side require special cutting. Joints, tension, and the thickness of the filling must preserve both the heart's contour and the space around the seat.

Choose a service for Heart Cone Chair

You can select Reupholstery as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price includes a new cover for the selected upholstered part in the chosen material category. It requires a usable underlying structure. New foam, replacement of other filling or webbing, or extensive rebuilding of the upholstery are priced after inspection. These jobs must not be confused with simply changing the cover.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

Upholstery fabric, leather, and aniline leather place different demands on cutting around the shaped shell. A suitable fabric must be able to follow the curves, while leather requires agreed-upon seams and appropriate stretch. Color, quality, and edge finish are selected using samples. Damage to the shell, new padding, and work on the metal base are assessed separately.

Show both back wings from the front and rear, the recess at the top, the seat cushion and the full connection between base and body.
