CH24 Y-chair for children: construction and work required

The CH24 Y-Chair for children was designed by Hans J. Wegner. The children's version features the Y-chair’s curved wooden back and envelope-woven seat in smaller proportions. It is a later adaptation of Wegner’s original design, developed with the Wegner Design Studio and launched in 2024.

The cord's dimensions and the small attachment points must fit the children's model. A seat for a regular adult CH24 has different dimensions and is a different task.

Choose a service for CH24 Y-chair for children

You can select New paper-cord weaving and Restoration of wooden frame as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price applies to a complete replacement of the weaving on the described part with the selected material. Repair of wood, loose joints, or damaged fastening points is not automatically included. These must be clarified first so that the load-bearing structure is suitable for the new weaving.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

The thickness of the paper cord must fit the children's version's smaller seat and attachment points. Natural or black cord is selected as a starting point, but the dimension and color will be confirmed before the work begins. The finish and stability of the wooden frame are assessed separately. The 2024 children's version has its own scope of service.

The wooden frame can be assessed for restoration at the same time as the seat or cushions. Specify if you wish to preserve the current tone and visible signs of wear. The shown price for the wooden frame is an independent starting point; major damage or replacement of parts requires a specific quote.

Photos for assessing CH24 Y-chair for children

Show the entire chair, the weaving from top and bottom, and the model marking. Specify the height and the seat's dimensions so the children's version is identified correctly.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
