Give FK87 Grasshopper new life

We start with the furniture’s condition, construction and your wishes. For FK87 Grasshopper you can choose:

  • New supporting base

Send images of the entire piece of furniture and close-ups of wear or damage. We assess the task and clarify materials, price and expected time with you before work begins.

If our restoration price exceeds what a new item would cost, we will always inform you and provide an honest assessment before we begin. In this way, you can safely choose what makes the most sense – both for you and for the planet.

Collection & delivery

We offer collection and delivery of your furniture throughout Denmark. You are also very welcome to drop off and collect from one of our workshops. We agree a time for delivery or collection that suits you.

FK87 Grasshopper: construction and work required

The FK87 Grasshopper was designed by Preben Fabricius and Jørgen Kastholm. The FK87 Grasshopper is a long chaise longue with a curved metal frame, a segmented upholstered surface, and a separate neck cushion. Slim armrests and a supporting base connect the visible components.

The long length of the sleeping surface and the division of the cushions require individual cutting. New upholstery, a new supporting canvas, and re-wrapping of the arms are three distinct tasks.

Choose a service for FK87 Grasshopper

You can select New covers for cushions and headrest cushion and New supporting base and New wrapping on armrests, pair as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price for new covers includes the existing set of cushions and headrest cushion. New load-bearing canvas and wrapping for a pair of armrests are separate services. New filling, fittings and frame repairs are not automatically included.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

The leather’s thickness, stretch and surface must suit the existing construction. Aniline leather has a more open appearance, while other suitable leathers may have a protective finish. Colour, edges and any reinforcements are confirmed before cutting. Load-bearing support and new filling are assessed separately.

Show the entire chaise longue from the side and from above, each cushion on both sides, and the base without cushions. Include photos of the neck cushion strap and the arm wrapping.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
