FK82 X-Chair: construction and work required

The FK82 X-Chair was designed by Preben Fabricius and Jørgen Kastholm. The FK82 X-Chair features a lightweight leather seat and a high back on a crossing steel frame. The curved feet and slender armrests make the construction clearly visible.

The tension and fastenings of the leather are significant for both form and support. The seat and back are fitted to the existing frame; surface damage or movement in the steel is a separate task.

Choose a service for FK82 X-Chair

You can select New leather on seat and back as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price includes new suitable leather on the seat and back, fitted to existing fastenings and construction. The need for load-bearing reinforcement, new attachment points, or work on the metal frame and armrests is assessed separately before the offer.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

The leather’s thickness, stretch and surface must suit the existing construction. Aniline leather has a more open appearance, while other suitable leathers may have a protective finish. Colour, edges and any reinforcements are confirmed before cutting. Load-bearing support and new filling are assessed separately.

Photos for assessing FK82 X-Chair

Show the leather surfaces from both sides, their attachments and edge finishes. Also include close-up images of the cross in the frame, the feet and the armrests.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
