Klint Armchair 3208: construction and work required

The Klint Armchair 3208 was designed by Kaare Klint. The Klint armchair features a high ladder back with curved back rails, wooden armrests, and a seat in woven paper cord. The load-bearing frame is solid wood, while the back rails are molded veneer.

Armrests and width distinguish model 3208 from the armless version of the chair. The weave pattern and tension must fit the seat frame; the edges of the veneer back must not be treated as thick solid wood.

Choose a service for Klint Armchair 3208

You can select New paper-cord weaving and Restoration of wooden frame as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price applies to a complete replacement of the weaving on the described part with the selected material. Repair of wood, loose joints, or damaged fastening points is not automatically included. These must be clarified first so that the load-bearing structure is suitable for the new weaving.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

New paper cord weaving is adapted to the existing construction and the agreed-upon pattern. Select natural or black as a starting point; material and color will be confirmed in the quote. A request for a different technique or material type must be described in advance, as it may change both the appearance and the scope of work.

The wooden frame can be assessed for restoration at the same time as the seat or cushions. Specify if you wish to preserve the current tone and visible signs of wear. The shown price for the wooden frame is an independent starting point; major damage or replacement of parts requires a specific quote.

Show the seat from top and bottom, the armrest joints, and the edges of the backrests. Specify the model marking and whether the frame moves during use.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.
