CH37 armchair: construction and work required

The CH37 armchair was designed by Hans J. Wegner. The CH37 is a wooden armchair with a hand-woven paper cord seat. Its straight lines and armrests give it a different construction than the CH36 without arms.

When fitting new weaving, the seat rails and fastening points are checked. Armrests and joints are assessed separately before the seat is tensioned.

Choose a service for CH37 armchair

You can select New paper-cord weaving and Restoration of wooden frame as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price applies to a complete replacement of the weaving on the described part with the selected material. Repair of wood, loose joints, or damaged fastening points is not automatically included. These must be clarified first so that the load-bearing structure is suitable for the new weaving.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

New paper cord weaving is adapted to the existing construction and the agreed-upon pattern. Select natural or black as a starting point; material and color will be confirmed in the quote. A request for a different technique or material type must be described in advance, as it may change both the appearance and the scope of work.

The wooden frame can be assessed for restoration at the same time as the seat or cushions. Specify if you wish to preserve the current tone and visible signs of wear. The shown price for the wooden frame is an independent starting point; major damage or replacement of parts requires a specific quote.

Show the whole seat from above and below, the armrests and any loose joints. State whether you prefer natural-coloured or black paper cord.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
