BM0488 table bench: construction and work required

The BM0488 bench was designed by Børge Mogensen. The BM0488 features a low solid oak frame and a double-woven rattan surface. The model is available as the short BM0488S and the long BM0488L; the image shows the long version.

Length and material determine the scope of work. Select the specific bench size, and also show the underside so that the weaving pattern and attachment points can be assessed before disassembly.

Choose a service for BM0488 table bench

You can select Reweaving of short bench, 69 cm and Reweaving of long bench, 138 cm and Restoration of short wooden frame and Restoration of long wooden frame as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price for reweaving applies to the entire woven surface of the chosen length. It assumes a stable wooden frame and usable attachment points. Repair of wood, loose joints, and missing parts are assessed separately. The short and long benches have different starting prices; wood restoration is selected as an independent service.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

BM0488 uses double-woven rattan, described here as cane-strip weaving. The material’s width, thickness and pattern must suit the existing frame. Rattan and paper cord are different materials; BM0489 uses paper cord and has its own model page. Colour and natural variation are agreed before work starts.

Show the entire bench from above and below, as well as close-ups of the weaving and wood joints. Measure the length and width, and include model markings if preserved.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
