Syver 3117 swivel chair: construction and work required

Syver 3117 swivel chair was designed by Arne Jacobsen. Syver 3117 combines the Series 7 shell without armrests with a swivel, height-adjustable wheeled base. The shell and the base are reviewed as separate parts of the task.

For front-side upholstery, the visible back is preserved, while full upholstery covers the entire upholstered shell. The function of the column and wheels is assessed separately.

Choose a service for Syver 3117 swivel chair

You can select Reupholstery and New cover for front-side upholstery and Restoration of a veneer surface as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price for new covers applies to the selected upholstery type on a usable shell. Full upholstery covers the entire upholstered shell, while front-side upholstery follows the existing interior padding and preserves the exposed rear surface. New filling, converting a bare shell to an upholstered chair, cracks and loose veneer layers are assessed separately. Veneer surface restoration is a separate service and does not include new covers. The metal frame, castors and mechanical functions are not automatically included.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

Upholstery fabric, leather, and aniline leather offer different possibilities for surface, color, and wear. The material must fit the curve of the shell and the chosen upholstery type. When restoring visible veneer, the treatment is matched with the existing finish and the condition of the face veneer. A change between veneer, front upholstery, and full upholstery requires a separate assessment.

Show the seat and back from the front, the entire backside, the frame and the marking under the seat. Describe if the chair sinks, creaks or has worn wheels.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
