Grand Prix 3131 swivel chair: construction and work required

The Grand Prix 3131 swivel chair was designed by Arne Jacobsen. The Grand Prix 3131 features the angular Grand Prix shell on a swivel base with five casters. This construction distinguishes it from the dining chair version, 3130.

An existing fully upholstered shell can be reupholstered. For the version with visible veneer, the surface is assessed, while the column, casters, and height adjustment function are separate mechanical tasks.

Choose a service for Grand Prix 3131 swivel chair

You can select Reupholstery and Restoration of a veneer surface as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price for new covers applies to the selected upholstery type on a usable shell. Full upholstery covers the entire upholstered shell, while front-side upholstery follows the existing interior padding and preserves the exposed rear surface. New filling, converting a bare shell to an upholstered chair, cracks and loose veneer layers are assessed separately. Veneer surface restoration is a separate service and does not include new covers. The metal frame, castors and mechanical functions are not automatically included.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

Upholstery fabric, leather, and aniline leather offer different possibilities for surface, color, and wear. The material must fit the curve of the shell and the chosen upholstery type. When restoring visible veneer, the treatment is matched with the existing finish and the condition of the face veneer. A change between veneer, front upholstery, and full upholstery requires a separate assessment.

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount.
