Give PK8 new life

We start with the furniture’s condition, construction and your wishes. For PK8 you can choose:

  • Reupholstery of seat and backrest

Send images of the entire piece of furniture and close-ups of wear or damage. We assess the task and clarify materials, price and expected time with you before work begins.

Is it worth restoring?

If our restoration price exceeds what a new item would cost, we will always inform you and provide an honest assessment before we begin. In this way, you can safely choose what makes the most sense – both for you and for the planet.

Collection & delivery

We offer collection and delivery of your furniture throughout Denmark. You are also very welcome to drop off and collect from one of our workshops. We agree a time for delivery or collection that suits you.

PK8: construction and work required

PK8 was designed by Poul Kjærholm. The PK8 features a molded shell in PC/ABS plastic and three legs in satin-anodized aluminum. On the upholstered version, the leather follows the front of the shell, while the back retains its visible shell surface.

The leather edging must follow the edges of the plastic shell without altering its shape. This is a shell chair with front-side upholstery; cracks in the plastic or issues with the leg attachments are assessed separately.

Choose a service for PK8

You can select Reupholstery of seat and backrest as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price applies to the replacement of leather upholstery on the front of the seat and back of an already upholstered PK8 with a usable shell and base padding. Converting a non-upholstered chair is a separate task. Cracks in the PC/ABS shell, major reconstruction, and damage to the aluminium frame are assessed separately.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

Leather or aniline leather is chosen as the starting point. Quality, thickness, and stretch must suit the curves and edges of the model. Color and surface are matched with samples; aniline leather shows natural variations and requires different expectations regarding patination compared to a more heavily treated leather.

Photos for assessing PK8

Show the front of the seat and back, the entire back side, the edges, and the connection between the shell and legs. State whether your chair is already upholstered and show any cracks in the plastic.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
