How we give your chair a new lease of life

Give PK9 new life

We start with the furniture’s condition, construction and your wishes. For PK9 you can choose:

Send images of the entire piece of furniture and close-ups of wear or damage. We assess the task and clarify materials, price and expected time with you before work begins.

Is it worth restoring?

If our restoration price exceeds what a new item would cost, we will always inform you and provide an honest assessment before we begin. In this way, you can safely choose what makes the most sense – both for you and for the planet.

Collection & delivery

We offer collection and delivery of your furniture throughout Denmark. You are also very welcome to drop off and collect from one of our workshops. We agree a time for delivery or collection that suits you.

PK9: construction and work required

PK9 was designed by Poul Kjærholm. PK9 features a tulip-shaped, leather-upholstered shell on three curved legs of flat stainless steel. The seat and back merge into a single sculptural form without armrests.

The tension of the leather must follow the double curves and narrow edges of the shell. The steel joint under the seat and the firmness of the shell are checked before new upholstery is installed.

Choose a service for PK9

You can select Reupholstery as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price includes a new cover for the selected upholstered part in the chosen material category. It requires a usable underlying structure. New foam, replacement of other filling or webbing, or extensive rebuilding of the upholstery are priced after inspection. These jobs must not be confused with simply changing the cover.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

Leather or aniline leather is chosen as the starting point. Quality, thickness, and stretch must suit the curves and edges of the model. Color and surface are matched with samples; aniline leather shows natural variations and requires different expectations regarding patination compared to a more heavily treated leather.

Photos for assessing PK9

Show the shell from the front, back, and side, as well as the underside by the steel frame. Take close-up photos of stitching, edges, and areas where leather or upholstery has come loose.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
