We start with the furniture’s condition, construction and your wishes. For The Tired Man you can choose:

Send images of the entire piece of furniture and close-ups of wear or damage. We assess the task and clarify materials, price and expected time with you before work begins.

Is it worth restoring?

If our restoration price exceeds what a new item would cost, we will always inform you and provide an honest assessment before we begin. In this way, you can safely choose what makes the most sense – both for you and for the planet.

Collection & delivery

We offer collection and delivery of your furniture throughout Denmark. You are also very welcome to drop off and collect from one of our workshops. We agree a time for delivery or collection that suits you.

The Tired Man: construction and work required

The Tired Man (Den Trætte Mand) was designed by Flemming Lassen. The Tired Man features a large, softly curved back with buttons, sturdy rounded armrests, and a deeply upholstered seat. The low legs and small wheels on the front legs emphasize the chair's voluminous shape.

The buttons on the back and the curves on the arms require extensive cutting and shaping. New upholstery and a rebuild of the internal padding are assessed separately.

Choose a service for The Tired Man

You can select Reupholstery as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price includes a new cover for the selected upholstered part in the chosen material category. It requires a usable underlying structure. New foam, replacement of other filling or webbing, or extensive rebuilding of the upholstery are priced after inspection. These jobs must not be confused with simply changing the cover.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

Furniture fabric and sheepskin are different material choices. For sheepskin, the fur type, hair length, color, and direction are agreed upon so that seams and transitions fit the furniture's curves. Woven fabric is chosen based on texture and use. The need for new filling or major reconstruction is assessed separately.

Photos for assessing The Tired Man

Show the back from both sides, the front edges of the arms, the seat and the underside. Describe sagging, loose buttons and any issues with wheels or legs.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
