Canvas Chair 2031: construction and work required

Canvas Chair 2031 was designed by Børge Mogensen. Canvas Chair 2031 features a distinctive oak frame with wide wooden armrests and stretched linen canvas on the seat and back. The textile runs around shaped, conical wooden parts.

The supporting canvas must be adapted to the suspension without altering the chair's open form. Model 2031 is kept separate from Canvas 21 with the lighter frame and narrow arm straps.

Choose a service for Canvas Chair 2031

You can select New canvas for seat and back and Restoration of wooden frame as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price applies to new load-bearing canvas for the seat and back, cut and sewn to fit the chair's existing suspension. The work assumes a usable frame. Fittings, straps, structural repairs, and any arm straps are priced separately. No foam is inserted into the stretched canvas.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

Linen canvas is chosen with the strength and weave that the load-bearing construction requires. Color, shrinkage, seams, and attachment are clarified before cutting. A standard upholstery fabric is not automatically suitable as a replacement. The patina and finish of the wood surface are coordinated separately.

The wooden frame can be assessed for restoration at the same time as the seat or cushions. Specify if you wish to preserve the current tone and visible signs of wear. The shown price for the wooden frame is an independent starting point; major damage or replacement of parts requires a specific quote.

Photos for assessing Canvas Chair 2031

Show the canvas edges and suspension, the whole back from behind and the underside of the seat. Also send close-up pictures of the wood armrests and loose joints.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work

All prices are indicative starting prices per piece of furniture, including VAT. Material consumption, quality, and the actual condition of the furniture can change the final amount. Work is only initiated once materials, scope, and price have been agreed upon in a specific quote. The timing for drop-off and completion is clarified in the same process.
