BM5768 folding stool: construction and work required

The BM5768 folding stool was designed by Børge Mogensen. The BM5768 is a foldable footstool with a teak cross-frame and a stretched fabric seat. It was designed as a lightweight outdoor piece of furniture that can be folded away.

The load-bearing seat requires suitable outdoor textile and strong finishes around the crossbars. Hinges and joints must be functional before the new seat is mounted.

Choose a service for BM5768 folding stool

You can select New Textile Seat and Restoration of wooden frame as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

The starting price applies to the cutting, sewing, and mounting of a new stretched fabric seat on a usable frame. This is a load-bearing textile, not a foam cushion. Fittings, loose joints, and the repair of teak parts are assessed separately. The fabric suspension must accommodate the folding function of the stool.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

Choose a durable outdoor textile that suits the suspension and expected use. Quality, color, and the execution of the seams are agreed upon specifically. The grey patina of the teak frame can be preserved, or the surface can be assessed for cleaning and treatment; old discoloration will not necessarily disappear completely.

The wooden frame can be assessed for restoration at the same time as the seat or cushions. Specify if you wish to preserve the current tone and visible signs of wear. The shown price for the wooden frame is an independent starting point; major damage or replacement of parts requires a specific quote.

Show the seat, both cross frames and the joints in open and folded positions. State the dimensions, outdoor use and whether the frame has cracks or play.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.

Starting price and agreement before work
