Safari Chair KK47000: construction and work required

The Safari Chair KK47000 was designed by Kaare Klint. The Safari Chair features a lightweight, detachable wooden frame with a tensioned back and seat, as well as flexible leather straps as armrests. A loose seat cushion and the tension of the straps are separate parts of the construction.

Canvas, leather surfaces, and load-bearing straps each perform different functions. The quote distinguishes between the seat and back, the cushion cover, and a pair of new arm straps; the entire chair does not necessarily require the same intervention.

You can select New Seat and Back and Restoration of wooden frame and New cover for seat cushion and New arm straps, pair as a starting point in the price selector. The quote concerns your own furniture. If several jobs are needed, they are described together in the quote; selections in the price selector are not automatically added together.

Select seat and back, cushion cover, a pair of arm straps, or wood restoration as a starting point. Prices are not automatically added together. New cushion filling, other tension straps, hardware, and structural damage are not included automatically and will be clarified before work begins.

Materials and the appearance you want to preserve

The seat and back can be made in canvas or suitable leather, while the arm straps require load-bearing saddle leather. The cushion cover is a separate part. Thickness, weave, and fasteners are chosen according to the chair; tension straps and hardware are assessed individually. Colors and finishes are coordinated with the wooden frame.

The wooden frame can be assessed for restoration at the same time as the seat or cushions. Specify if you wish to preserve the current tone and visible signs of wear. The shown price for the wooden frame is an independent starting point; major damage or replacement of parts requires a specific quote.

Show the entire chair, the underside of the seat, the back's attachment, arm straps, and tension straps. Remove the cushion and show the wooden parts and their joints without forcing any stuck parts.

A photo of the markings or model number helps identify the version. State the number of pieces of furniture, previous repairs, and the issues you experience during use. Take photos calmly and with enough light so that both edges and details can be seen.
